Enjoying Indian summer with the kids

Today, the kids and I enjoyed a beautiful Indian summer day. The temperatures reached almost 70 degrees in the Seacoast area. The local news station reports that this area has just about reached peak foliage.

We started out with a bike (Jacob) and stroller (Lucas) ride around the neighborhood. A new development has recently gone in down the street and we walked around that area. The sun was shining and the birds were signing. A scene typical of autumn in New England and one of the reasons why we love living in this area.

After breathing in some fresh air, the kids wanted to rake up the leaves and jump in them. The week before my husband had mowed many of the leaves so we did the best we could to rake up a pile with what was left. The kids insisted on starting their run from the stone wall, which was a good 100 feet away. Great exercise. I know they will sleep good tonight.

When it started to get dark, we retreated inside for apple cider and to draw Halloween and Fall pictures. I hope you had a chance to take advantage of today’s beautiful weather as well.
